I bought this book not so long ago and I absolutely love it!
I've made 3 bags in total now from this, the first is the bag on the cover page above in a fabulous blue floral fabric and I made the pleated clutch as a present for Mum - it looked great!
This post is for the Origami bag in chapter 3, I found this Ladybug material at the local market and thought it would look funky for this bag...
So we start off with all the components, I used medium weight iron-on interfacing so that it stands up on its own...
The sides are created first with decorative top stitching...
The lining is attached (mine was black) and the zip is inserted in between the two sides, again with the funky top stitching...
Once I'd gone around the edges of the lining and outer edges separately, leaving a gap in the lining to allow the bag to be turned out the right way, I put gussets into the corners...
After I turned the bag out, the zip end pops out into the inside of the bag, so back inside out the bag went and I added a couple of stitches as shown in the photo to stop this happening:
This is basically a continuation of the seam but with a gap for the zip - trust me, don't try to sew over the zip!! :) I did it by accident and almost broke my machine!
Ta dah! The finished result...
I also made the large size one too and gave them to my fabulous friend Lorna as a present :) Although, I very nearly kept them for myself!
See you soon x
Lizybee's Crafty Side of Life
A place for me to share my crafting with those of a similar inkling for the fabric and paper possibilities! I love to make things with my sewing machine, be it gifts for friends and family or little things to add a little more sparkle to my life! I also love creating mini-albums of events in my life, something cute and not too overwhelming for friends to have a nosey at when they’re round to our house for a spot of tea!

The Walk-in Craft Cupboard
As promised... my craft cupboard!! :D
That photo was taken about half way through sorting it out, there were so many options about how to arrange it!
This is how different sections stand at the momento, tried to keep relevant things together and I've been trigger happy with my trusty label maker :)
My fabric stash...
My embellishments and stamps...
My collection for making mini-albums...
Albums that have already been made/filled and my cross stitch collection...
I've still got some sections to sort out, like my paper stacks - might have to put my woodwork skills to the test for that one!
If you've any comments or ideas, please let me know! :)

I have my very own craft room in Our House but it was in dire need of a re-paint. So input my fabulous Mum, Beverly, and some CSI suits...
